GREETINGS FROM FLORIDA
We finally made it from the “frigid North” to the warm, sunny South! But, we had to pay our ‘dues’ on our way down, as we got “snowed in” at Goldsboro, NC. and left for Florida on Wednesday. We had a wonderful time with Tripp, Ginny, Lizzie, and Ella in Clemmons, NC. and Chris, Gina, Tucker, and Peyton over the weekend.
We will begin our “adventures” with our weekend with Tripp and his family in Clemmons. The following installment will include our visit with Chris and family in Goldsboro.
While in Clemmons, we visited the most “unusual, strangest, bizarre, and interesting” house in the world! Located in Kernersville, this house has twenty-two rooms on seven levels, and ceiling heights ranging from six feet to twenty-five feet. It was designed by Jule Gilmer Korner, an Interior Designer, and Decorator to showcase his work. He became the famous painter of Bull Durham Bulls across the South. It held the first Private Little Theater in America, and is still used for special presentations. You will notice pictures of the House, Family picture around the sign (we were FREEZING COLD), the Privy, “conversation bench”, ‘kissing curtain” behind the fireplace. What a fun place!!!! I wouldn’t want to be there on a dark, stormy Halloween night!!!!
It was great fun being with our Clemmons family. We got lots of Lizzie and Ella hugs, and enjoyed relaxing with our family in the evening. After church and lunch at the Cracker Barrel on Sunday morning, we drove over to Goldsboro to be with Chris and his family, and to watch the Eagles!!!! We even wore our Eagles shirts, and they had the nerve to lose!!!!
