Visit To The McGee's

What a special time! We visited with Les’s college room mate and his wife in their beautiful Florida home at Port St. Lucie, last week. John and Nancy McGee made us feel like “Royalty”! We enjoyed the hot tub, lounging by the pool, a beautiful view overlooking boats on the canal, warm breezes, delicious meals, shopping, sightseeing, a fantastic visit to the Lion Country Safari in West Palm Beach, visiting the Manatees, and a fun lunch by the Marina at Fort Pierce. As Nancy is also a quilter, we had fun stitching together and visiting the Quilt Shop as well as the fabric department at the local Walmart! (sorry Mark!)

The McGee’s and the Parks friendship dates back to our college years, and then visiting back and forth during the early years of our marriages and families. We had a very special time of “catching up” and sharing life’s experiences as we sat on the beautiful patio and enjoyed the warm weather.
Port St. Lucie is built around “water” and everyone’s property backs up to a canal so that they can take their boats out to the ocean via the Intercostals Waterway. However, some of it is not as glamorous as you’d think because there are many homes for sale and “foreclosure”. It is very hard to sell property anywhere these days. However, some folks seem to be doing fine. The neighbors have their car, truck, and boat washed and detailed every Saturday by folks who come to their home. I guess we can thank them for keeping a few folks employed doing that!!!!

We had a great visit, and we were sent on our way with a “delicious” Filet Mignon dinner. We will be making a reservation at the McGee’s B & B again, that’s for sure. Enjoy the pics, and continue to follow us as our next Blog will cover the Lion Country Safari.
